CinemaCon is full of lovely surprises today and we can now add some Star Wars goodness to that list. Disney have announced that they will be sticking to their word by releasing Star Wars: Episode VII in the summer of 2015 and to add even more excitement to the room they also revealed their intention of releasing a Star Wars film every summer from there on in. How will that all work you ask? Well, the conference confirmed that each release will alternate with the milestone episodes of the all new trilogy being alternated with the now confirmed standalone/spin-off films. The rumour mill has been rife with talks of stories focusing on specific characters such as Yoda, or the on-going rivalry between Han Solo and Boba Fett. with news back in February that Lawrence Kasdan and Simon Kinberg were already hard at work on two of said standalone pictures.

Given the fact that that by the time Star Trek Into Darkness has been and gone from cinemas the Comic-Con will be upon us surely we’ll be hearing some more Star Wars goodness from J.J. Abrams at the event.

In the meantime, enjoy the latest Star Trek Into Darkness trailer here.
